She later sang in both Concert and Vocal Jazz ensembles during her time in undergraduate school.

During the day, Lisa works as a public school educator and has done so for almost two decades. For the first 11 years of her career, she was a classroom teacher; however, she felt that she could better serve her students in a school counseling role. She returned to school and earned her certification in School Counseling and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She has since transitioned from the classroom to school counseling and is currently working as a middle school counselor.

Earning her MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College, Susan studied extensively about human liberation and the intersectionality of injustices.
